14th October – From 6 PM to 7.30 PM

In the framework of the Africa week organised by the S&D Group in the European Parliament, PES Women and the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) join forces to give centre stage to African feminist voices from across the world!

Offering an intersectional lens on feminist issues with a cultural twist, we want to spotlight inspiring testimonies and stories showcasing African women’s contribution to gender equality and to share new perspectives as well as challenges. As culture and arts can be very powerful tools to share diverse stories and to empower women in society, this event will focus on concrete examples of how culture is helping in revealing gender inequalities but also in promoting social justice and female empowerment.

This online debate will feature African feminist artists, activists and creators shaping the conversation around priorities they identify in their own work as most important for women from Africa and African-decent today.

The 4th edition of the Africa Week Initiative will take place online from Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 October 2020.

More details on the event and how to join the online webinars and debates available here.

Join our progressive politicians, leading activists and high level experts as they debate on how to shape EU-Africa relations and share new perspectives and challenges in fulfilling the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Africa Agenda 2063.
