Title: Staying in: winning the debate to keep Britain in the EU”

Context: Launch debate of the publication “Staying in – A reform plan for Britain and Europe” released at the end of last year by the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) and the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR).

Time: 17:00-19:00

Venue: FEPS office, rue Montoyer 40, 1000 Brussels

Speakers:

  • Emma Reynolds – MP and Shadow Europe Minister, UK
  • Jo Leinen – MEP and President of the European Movement
  • Giles Merritt – Secretary General of Friends of Europe
  • Will Straw – Associate Director at IPPR and author of the report “Staying in”
  • Chair: Ernst Stetter – Secretary General of FEPS
  • “Concluding Remarks”: Massimo D’Alema – President of FEPS and former Prime Minister of Italy

Upon the announcement of David Cameron’s intention to hold a referendum on the UK being in or out of the EU, FEPS and IPPR would like to invite you to a debate to exchange views on Britain’s future in Europe. An evening discussion will be held to launch the recent report which examines British public opinion on Europe and illustrates many reasons why Britain is clearly better off “staying in”.
