Anchoring equality in the new European agenda

The beginning of a new legislature offers possibilities to re-shape the work plan of European Institutions, adapt the approach to some existing initiatives and put forward new policy initiatives that freshly appointed European Commissioners or Members of the European Parliament would want to champion.

Taking place at the Académie Royale de Belgique, the conference kicked off on 25 September at 14:00 with a Legacy Speech by the European Commissioner for Equality Helena Dalli on Anchoring equality in the new European agenda.

In her address, Helena Dalli reflected on her tenure as EU Commissioner for Equality and shared her hopes for the future Commission’s work on equality.

Following her speech, initial responses were provided by:

• Lina Gálvez Muñoz, Chair of FEMM, S&D Group, and FEPS Vice President

The session concluded with a Q&A chaired by Alex Sceberras Trigona, Permanent Representative of Malta to the World Trade Organization, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta, and member of the FEPS Scientific Council.
