The Feminist Foreign Policy Progressive Voices Collective (FFPPVC) will convene an online members’ meeting on 19 March (14:00–16:00 CET) to exchange perspectives and coordinate advocacy efforts on feminist foreign policy and gender equality in EU external action.

The meeting will open with welcome remarks from Machris Cabreros, FFPPVC Co-Chair and Global Coordinator at the Progressive Alliance. Participants will then share reflections from the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and discuss expectations for the upcoming Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policy, to be hosted by the Government of Spain in Madrid in June 2026.

A key focus of the session will be a collective brainstorming on FFPPVC inputs to the EU gender budgeting debate for the next Multiannual Financial Framework (2028–2034). The discussion will help shape contributions to a civil society conference on gender budgeting taking place in Cyprus later in March, where FFPPVC member Aline Burni (ODI Europe) will represent the Collective in a panel on the EU’s Global Europe programme.

The meeting will close with reflections and takeaways from Ann Linde, FFPPVC Co-Chair, former Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden and Special Advisor on Foreign Affairs at FEPS.

The meeting provides a space for Collective members – academics, policymakers, and civil society representatives – to exchange insights and strengthen collaboration on advancing feminist foreign policy in Europe and globally.

For more information regarding this event, please do not hesitate to contact Beatriz Abellán, Policy Analyst on International Relations, FEPS (beatriz.abellan@feps-europe.eu) and Julia Wild, Project Officer, FEPS (julia.wild@feps-europe.eu).

The Feminist Foreign Policy Progressive Voices Collective (FFPPVC)

Since its launch in October 2023, the FFPPVC has served as a platform for progressive-minded academics, policymakers and civil society representatives to exchange perspectives and influence policy developments on feminist foreign policy. These closed-door thematic meetings enable members to share expertise, refine strategies, and deepen the feminist lens on global affairs.
