Conference on the illiberal democracies in Europe
Select theme of interest first

The term illiberal democracy was created by the American public intellectual Fareed Zakaria in the mid-90s to describe pseudo-democratic authoritarian states that like to maintain the facade of a working democracy. In the last decade, anti-democratic trends have been strengthening in many countries within and outside of the European Union, posing a danger to the common European values. Therefore, the Foundation for European Progressive Values (FEPS), the Táncsics Foundation and the Policy Solutions are organizing a conference in Budapest, Hungary on this crucial issue in November 27th-28th.
