On Saturday, 16 November, the annual Africa Day will take place again! For 26 years, this has been the largest event about Africa in the Netherlands. A day full of workshops, debates, lectures, literature, films, music, a fashion show, and much more! Find out more about the event and buy your tickets here!

Africa Day 2024 is all about the theme “Getting Rights Right” and aims to shed light on movements on the African continent that defend human rights and democratic values. Challenges related to improving progressive and democratic values while being cautious of Western neocolonialism will be one of the topics of discussion. African voices who advocate for human rights are central to Afrika Day 2024.

At this year’s edition, we are excited to announce that FEPS will be hosting a series of fringe events on its own FEPS global stage! These sessions will focus on:

  • CSDDD: addressing complexities and potential for workers rights in global supply chains
  • Implementing Feminist Foreign Policy in fragile and conflict affected settings
  • An injury to one is an injury to all!: Social justice from an African trade union perspective
  • Boosting the social impact of European Union development cooperation in Africa through the Inequality Marker

FEPS is also organising a FEPS-led session on Seizing multilateral reform momentum for African countries: Enhancing their role and advancing the 2030 Agenda on the Africa Day main stage.
