Implementing the New Pact

Amid a shift from negotiating the reforms to preparing for implementation, this panel discussion explores the comprehensive changes introduced by the New Pact on Migration and Asylum and ways to ensure their proper implementation over the coming years.

With member states due to finalise their national implementation plans before the end of the year, this event will focus on the conditions needed for solidarity to work, fundamental rights safeguards, and effectiveness in policy implementation, building on policy studies on files released since the adoption of the reforms.

Legal experts, policymakers and civil society will analyse and discuss challenges and ways to implement the New Pact and strengthen the Common European Asylum System. It will also look at ways to create a resilient asylum system that balances responsibility, solidarity, protects human rights and the rule of law.
