In October 2023, FEPS, in collaboration with FES EU Brussels and supported by an active network of dedicated partners, launched the Feminist Foreign Policy Progressive Voices Collective (FFPPVC), to gather a community of feminist experts from across the globe and create a platform for them to exchange on policy approaches and practices in Feminist Foreign Policy. Based on learnings from different parts of the world, the aim is to delineate common traits of Feminist Foreign Policy for the progressive family, analyse the main challenges and opportunities for the EU as a feminist foreign policy actor and advance specific policy recommendations to EU policymakers.

The Collective met on 15 October in a closed-door online setting to discuss topical issues.

The expert meeting was chaired by Ann Linde, Co-Chair of the network and former Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Machris Cabreros, Co-Chair of the network and coordinator at Progressive Alliance. The discussions were built on the draft policy brief prepared on funding for feminist organisations and updates from around the world on Progressive Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP), including the state of play of FFP in the MENA region and intersectional Feminist Policy-Making for EU External Actions. The discussion also included a Strategic Brainstorming on how the new configuration in the EU Commission/Parliament figures on the FFP agenda and potential strategy development for the Progressive family.

Speakers included:

Lina Gálvez, S&D Member of the European Parliament, Spain

Chloé Ridel, S&D Member of the European Parliament, France

Chiara Adamo, Head of the GAP III division in DG INTPA

Shada Islam, Founder and CEO, New Horizons Project
