FEPS at the United Nations Summit of the Future

FEPS will attend and actively participate in the Summit of the Future, which will take place in New York on 22 and 23 September 2024 at the UN Headquarters. Our delegation will also jointly organise side events with international partners during the Summit of the Future Action Days on 20 and 21 September 2024.

The Summit is a high-level event, bringing world leaders together to forge a new international consensus on how we deliver a better present and safeguard the future.

The aim of the Summit is twofold:

• accelerate efforts to meet our existing international commitments, and
• take concrete steps to respond to emerging challenges and opportunities.

This will be achieved through an action-oriented outcome document called the Pact for the Future.

The Pact will be negotiated and endorsed by countries in the lead-up to and during the Summit in September 2024.

The result will be a world—and an international system—that is better prepared to manage the challenges we face now and in the future, for the sake of all humanity and future generations.

As part of FEPS’ ‘UNited for’ flagship project, FEPS will present insights from its book A New Global Deal: Reforming World Governance, which aims to contribute to open dialogue across all continents concerning the priorities of reforming world governance and policies to address current global challenges.
