Mental Health

Given the anxiety and uncertainty in our societies, mental health has emerged as one of the defining public policy challenges of our time. Addictions, the impact of new technologies and mental well-being at work are central concerns for everyone. A comprehensive, gender-responsive, and inclusive approach is needed at the EU level – one that shifts away from stigma towards prevention and empowerment.
 

Mental health is a fundamental component of the quality of life. This is what progressives needs to stand for.

Progressive solutions for Europe’s mental health 

In collaboration with the Progressive Analytical Centre and the Institute for Rational Addiction Policies
 

On World Mental Health Day, join us – in person or online – for the conference “Healthy mind, stronger Europe”.
 

Bringing together policymakers, practitioners, academics and civil society, this event will present the results of three expert groups that have been working on concrete recommendations on:

  • Mental health in the workplace
  • The impact of digital technologies on mental health, including social media
  • The intersection of mental health and addictive behaviour

POLICY BRIEF & RECOMMENDATIONS

At the event, we will launch the policy brief ‘Progressive solutions for mental health and wellbeing in Europe’, drawing on evidence, which proposes a progressive policy framework in support of a comprehensive EU strategy on mental health.
 

We also prepared a recommendation paper that goes straight to the point and highlights concrete, actionable proposals for policymakers.

Members of the Feminist Foreign Policy Progressive Voices Collective (FFPPVC) met online to shape progressive approaches to Feminist Foreign Policy in Europe and beyond.
 

Together, they examined the strategic interests – beyond values – driving the implementation of a Feminist Foreign Policy at the EU level and coordinated upcoming events and publications.
