FEPS and the Renner Institut are delighted to launch the 10th cycle of the FEPS Young Academics Network (FEPS YAN).

Following a highly competitive selection process, 37 young researchers have been selected to join this special 10th cycle. The cohort brings together a strong balance of geographical and gender representation, as well as a rich diversity of academic expertise, professional experiences and backgrounds.

The participants will meet for the first time in Vienna at the Renner Institut, where they will present and discuss the research proposals submitted as part of their applications. Through these exchanges, they will identify common areas of interest and establish working groups that will collaborate throughout the cycle to produce the FEPS YAN policy studies to be published at the end of the programme.

Throughout the cycle, participants will be supported by both an academic mentor and a political mentor from the Socialists and Democrats (S&D) Group in the European Parliament, alongside the FEPS YAN Steering Committee. This combination of academic and political perspectives will encourage participants to connect rigorous research with current European policy debates.

The 10th cycle will include three in-person and three online seminars, providing opportunities for sustained exchange and collaboration. Participants will also benefit from 10 academic lectures delivered by renowned former FEPS YAN members, as well as a range of dedicated training opportunities designed to strengthen their research, communication and policy-making skills.

The programme aims not only to support the development of high-quality research, but also to foster a lasting community of young academics committed to contributing to progressive ideas and evidence-based policy debates in Europe
